DWM ~ Thistle Quilt

I have the new vase for my thistle quilt done. It is larger than Gwen’s vase, but very similar in shape. I had to make mine bigger because of how I placed my leaves.

I’m much happier with it now. It’s time to figure out where I’m going from here. HST borders are an option.

Gwen just finished hers with a white binding. I could do that, or maybe use this as a binding.

Or maybe a border.

Or maybe a big floral border. Let those flowers know that weeds can take center stage too now and again.

That space in the middle bothers me a bit. I may or may not do anything about it.

Have a great day!

The vase looks great.. I like the first HST pic

  2. This looks great! I have a hard time deciding on borders too. You can’t go wrong with any of those. I like the alternating borders the best.

  3. All great choices but my favorite is the HST’s. What did you end up deciding to do?

I love your block. I really like the half square triangle border ideas because it brings out all the different shades of color you used in the applique!

  5. Boy, that change in vase made all the difference! I’m liking the look of HSTs, although just a fabric border is looking good too. As to the space, could you hand quilt a design in there? Maybe a shadow flower?

It looks great with the new vase. I think borders are the hardest to decide on. It’s a fun little quilt.
