I bought this layer cake a while back. It has aged enough that I’m ready to use it.
It goes well with this piece I picked up in Phoenix.
I cut squares of solid fabrics and alternated solids and stripes in stacks. Then I placed them on my 2 1/2 inch Accuquilt strip cutter and ran them through.
Then I placed them in one of my enamel pans to keep them all together.
There is very little waste in this quilt!
Such beautiful color!
Here are the first 15 blocks. They work up quickly.
Have a great day!

Wow! Fantastic!!
Oh, those colors are so pretty. I have quite a bit of aging fabric here too! Don’t want to use it until it’s just right! Haha!
This looks great. Love the colours.
These are gorgeous! I love that term, “age”. I had quite a laugh at how much “aged” fabric I have lying around!!
I like how your layer cake had ‘aged’ enough for you to use it. The solids and stripes in alternating strips add such interest and liveliness to the blocks.
Hi Katy! These blocks just look so darn pretty and I agree with Luann – the perfect way to showcase these gorgeous stripes. And they are all so nice and straight! Love! ~smile~ Roseanne
Oh my,,,, I’ve got some stripe fabric that I’ve always wanted to do something with but just kept pushing it to the back because I wanted to somehow showcase the stripes without making my quilt look too chaotic. THIS is the way, THANKS BIG TIME!
