A Tiny Finish and a New Toy

I cut these tiny tumblers out ages ago. I pieced them together a few months ago and I finally got around to finishing this!

The tumblers finish at 1 1/2 inches high. So this little quilt is about 6 by 9 inches.

Here is the back.

I was motivated to quilt it because I wanted to try out this new toy. I picked this up at a garage sale recently. I don’t know much about Pfaffs, but I was intrigued by the dual feed system. And it was dirt cheap. I plugged it in and it sewed like a champ!

It needs a bit more cleaning up, but it seems to be a sweet machine. And I’m glad I finally finished this little quilt.

I think I’ll use it for a mug rug. Have a great day!

  1. That’s so cute! When I first looked at it I thought, “I wonder why she put such a wide binding on it.” Then when I read how small the thimbles are, well, you know. It’s all in your perspective, right? lol Love the darling little machine, too!

  2. SO sew so sweet! I adore it!

I have an older Pfaff and love it. Saw a refurbished Pfaff same model as your new unit at the store recently for $699. The IDT system on Pfaffs are amazing.

What a sweet little quilt. I just love scrappy designs and this is no exception. The stitching from the new-to-you Pfaff is excellent! Nice find, Katy!

Ooh, that quilt is teeny tiny and SO cute! And I love seeing the bargains you find at garage sales and antique malls. We all wish we could find those gems.

Cute quilt and nice garage sale find! When I was 14, I bought a Pfaff with baby sitting money and then sewed on that baby for 35 years! I was so sad to find that I’d burned out the motor and it can’t be replaced – I hope you get many years of fabulous sewing from your new toy!

Congratulations on your new machine. Your new quilt is so cute. Love the quilting design and all the pretty fabrics you chose for it.

I predict you will enjoy sewing with your new Pfaff machine. By all means have it serviced and lubricated. The dual feed system is a favorite feature as are the “needle down” option and the “scant quarter inch” presser foot.

    Amicalement
