This and That

I need a donation quilt, so I pulled out this top that I picked up at our guild’s Trash to Treasure sale.

I would like it to be longer. Would it look odd with only top and bottom borders? Or narrow borders on the sides and wide top and bottom? Hmmmm…..

The ladies were here for Craft night this past Monday. Some brought their own projects to work on and others worked in adult coloring books.

Have you tried Oreo Thins? They are dangerous! Especially the lemon and salted caramel varieties. They are apparently vegan, so it’s almost healthy, right?

I have the wedding quilt loaded on the frame. Now the pressure is on to get the quilting just right.

So much to do today. Have a good one!

I am a wife, mom of four amazing kids, and a librarian. I have been making traditional quilts for ages but have ventured into art qulting in the last several years. I also love to knit socks and mittens and dye my own fabric. I am thankful to God my Father and Creator for the gift of creativity!

I have used borders on only two sides on several quilts and it worked out just fine….
Looking forward to seeing what you decide…. I love the colors in the “rescued” quilt top!
Did I miss a blog post? Did you get the replacement rail for Friday? Or, are you still working with the damaged one?

I have put narrow borders on the sides and wide ones top and bottom many times to get a quilt into a good rectangular proportion. I have also put just top and bottom borders on quilts. Sometimes I insert the lengthening strip between the main part and the last row of blocks as a kind of spacer.

    Hi Katy,
Does this mean the new rail is on and you are able to fully use your new machine?! I sure hope so! Happy Wednesday! ~smile~ Roseanne

  4. Oh gosh, I haven’t tried those Oreos. Time for a Target run (haha)! So glad to see that you have your new machine all up and running, finally!! I wish I could’ve joined your group, it sure looks like fun!

I love the Oreo thins, oh my goodness your right, they are dangerous. I love the lemon and the thin mint kind. I love the quilt you showed first. I made a Soldiers Cot quilt and wanted it longer so I added additional borders to the top and bottom and it looks great. Hugs,

I have tried the oreo thins – I didn’t realize they were vegan I knew it is basically 2 cookies equal one of the old which means I can eat about 10 of them at a time right? 🙂
