I found some fun quilts and tops at an antique mall last weekend.

It isn’t always possible to get full shots of quilts in stores. I don’t like to move them much if I am not really interested in buying.

I loved this top, but sadly it had been washed in a washing machine. This is not a good idea for an unquilted top.

This tied crazy quilt was unbelievably thick! I’ve never seen one so thick before. It had just the one basket block in the middle.

This top was very tempting to me. This photo shows just a quarter of it.

The stars had been applied with a machine straight stitch and then buttonholed by hand. I’m still thinking about this one!

I also saw this sweet little purple toy machine. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this color before. I left that there too!

Have a great day!

I love the first quilt. Did any of them come home with you?
I know it was hard for you to leave that cute purple machine!
Sometimes window shopping is all you need to do. That purple machine is really something!
Quilt #1 was definitely an eye popper. I thought #2 was pretty sweet and oh, so classic.
I agree with the others – that purple sewing machine is a scream!
I would have snagged quilt top #1 and purple sewing machine (unless it was priced too high).
Very fun post to read. Lots of vintage eye candy there! Love that iittle purple sewing machine. I attended an auction a few years ago where they were selling off someone’s collection of toy sewing machines. I still kick myself for not buying one of them. They had every color under the sun!
OMG, neat old quilts !!! LOVE the purple toy machine!!! purple is my color!!! rare to find that kind of stuff in antique stores here is California. how much $$$ was the toy machine? what do those kinda finds run ? I am going on a short vacation to the San Francisco/Napa Valley area soon, gonna look around antique stores while I am there. Katy I just love watching what you are doing! when I get to retire I wanna be just like you!
So many pretty quilts! I rarely find quilts in the antique shops I visit, so this was fun to see. That little purple toy sewing machine is quite the find! I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a purple one either. I have two now, both from my daughter. One is blue, the other orange. I think the purple would tuck in to your collection quite well!
