I made several bed size quilts in 2017. I think this first one was my favorite. I made this as a leader/ender scrap project. The top was completed while I was still in Arizona. It has quite a few scraps from dear reader, Ila. I wouldn’t have been able to finish this without her help!
This next one is tied for favorite! This was made during the Gwennie Inspired Medallion QAL . The idea of a collaborative project was started by Lori at Humble Quilts. Five of us were in the group and each suggested a theme for one of the “rounds.” As you can see, I added more rounds than that and mine grew to queen sized!
This one was a grad gift for my nephew.
This was my very last finish for 2017.
Another scrappy rectangles quilt, this time in batiks.
My Cotton and Steel Scrappy Trips quilt, AKA Sea Sick.
Shenandoah Stars was a long time UFO.
And my 1930s Ohio Stars.
I really love making bed size quilts. I’m so thankful for my long arm that allows me to do this!
Have a great day!

Love all your quilts and your blog! Could you share the dimension of the pieces for your favorite at the top and also for your nephew’s quilt?
Each one of the quilts is special in its own way. That’s one of my favorite parts of quilt. I love the pops of orange in your nephew’s quilt!
I was just thinking about the Gwennie Inspired Medallion QAL yesterday. I thoroughly enjoyed taking part in that last year and treasure my quilt. I would love to take part in another one again sometime. Yours is stunning.
Wow! I really love your rectangle quilts! I’m making one as my next leader ended project. Except, I have quite a way to go still on my current one – 2” squares being seen into 16 patch blocks.
Wow, Katy! Thank you for sharing these delightful treats with us this morning. The medallion and scrappy triangles are my two favorites as well; followed by Shenandoah Stars. I agree that the Gwennie Inspired Medallion is truly a work of art!
Katy, I enjoy reading your blog with my morning coffee!! I have had my eye on your Leader Ender quilt for some time. Can you share what size of bed it is on, I’d like to make one for my queen bed, I’ve made many quilts, mostly QOV’s and have none of my own. I have some newly purchased fabric but I also want include scraps from the past … Keep up the good work!
You have been so productive, and each quilt is delightful!
Your quilts are always so beautiful and inspiring! I really do love your Scrappy Trips and the rectangles with the batiks. You always seem to get so much accomplished.
All so pretty but my faves would be the medallion, scrappy trips and the stars. I want to do a medallion some day (maybe).
What a cheerful quilt show! You’ve given me some ideas . . .
love all your quilts – it is always so nice to see what we accomplish isn’t it.
I love them all, you have really made some beauties! Hugs,
I love seeing all your magnificent quilts. I love the Gwennie Inspired Medallion quilt. You definitely motivate me to make more quilts and longarm them. I do love Millie now that I have figured out how to use her. Next will be learning to use all that came with her, lol
What a wonderful collection. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but the medallion quilt and scrappy rectangles are at the top of my list.
I always enjoy seeing your quilts. Glad I don’t have to pick a favorite, because I like them all. You are such an inspiration to me. Thanks for sharing!
Wow, it really makes you realize how much you accomplished when you see them all together. I agree that 1 and 2 are tied for my favorites! But, I really love them all!
Such a treat to see all these quilts in one place. I think your Gwennie Inspired Medallion quilt is a work of art!
Hi Katy,
All of them are gorgeous! If I had to pick a favorite, I think it might be Shenandoah Stars followed closely by your nephew’s graduation gift. ~smile~ Roseanne
