As I was debating with myself about which vintage top to quilt, some things came up which left me very frustrated. No more time for debate, I wanted to get going on hand quilting NOW!
So I went back to the star top and loaded it on the long arm for basting.

I decided to try a little different method this time. I just quilted large squiggles at 4 stitches per inch.
I did play a little with my drawing app. I wanted an all over design that I didn’t have to mark. Here are some things I tried.

In the end, I decided to go with this.

I’m so glad that I rediscovered hand quilting. It is very therapeutic! And I got this basted just in time as we ended up heading out of town the very next day to see a family member that is gravely ill. So that meant travel stitching.
Have a great day!

Prayers for your family, 👼
May the hand quilting soothe you aching heart.
Praying for God’s closeness as you travel and spend time with family.
Do you hand baste when you are hand quilting? Will this quilting be one block at a time? I’m interested in trying this and your Baptist Fans really inspire me! Thanks for sharing your work.
