I mentioned before that I have a second QOV to present in May. For months, I knew exactly what I wanted to make. And then last week it happened. Someone posted a free pattern that could be downloaded to make QOVs and my plan totally changed. I’ve had these fabrics forever and wanted to use them for this QOV.
I don’t have enough to follow this pattern exactly, but then we all know I’m not so good at following patterns anyway! It has an eagle in the center that I love and will use that part. First, I have to cut out and assemble these pieces. The free pattern can be found here.
I’m still not sure I have enough fabrics for the whole top. I found this fabric on the far right in my stash and I’m trying to decide if it fits well enough with the others to use.
Speaking of QOVs, I purchased this panel to use in another QOV down the road.
I think will be a lot of fun to quilt.
Have a great day!

Great fabrics for a QOV!
Thank you! Hugs, Sandi
Can’t wait to see what you come up with.
I think the new find is a great fit w/the others. Can’t wait to see this finish!
Great panel and fabrics. Can you share the link for the pattern you found? Hugs,
Can’t wait to see the finished quilt. Keep us posted.
Beautiful fabrics for such a wonderful quilt. The design you found is going to be gorgeous.
Hi Katy, can you share where you found the pattern? The eagle in the center has me interested in trying to make it for our guilds QOV.
I also dug deep into my stash for fabrics to make this eagle applique. There will be a lot of eagles wrapped around our vets in the coming months!
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I’m also doing the eagle applique, and plan to treat it more like a simple medallion. Like you, trying to make do with my stash.
I can’t wait to see it!
