A Plethora of Projects

I seem to have a case of quilter’s ADD right now. Perhaps it is just settling back in after a time away and not yet knowing where to focus my attention in the sewing room. I did add borders to my 16-patch top. Now I need to figure out  a backing for it.

And I added borders to this old UFO. I’m not sure how I want to quilt this yet. I don’t want to rush into anything after spending this long on it!

I didn’t work on my broken dishes swap blocks while I was gone, but I have been making the HSTs as leaders/enders this week and making a bit of progress that way.

I have made a few more flying geese. Time to cut some more!

And I started the handwork on the binding of my Twist quilt. I need a good movie to get this finished.

What are you working on today?

About katyquilts

I am a wife, mom of four amazing kids, and a librarian. I have been making traditional quilts for ages but have ventured into art qulting in the last several years. I also love to knit socks and mittens and dye my own fabric. I am thankful to God my Father and Creator for the gift of creativity!

  1. The only thing I seem to be able to accomplish right now is adding to my fabric stash 🙂

  2. Quilters ADD – I like that. Explains so much about me….. 🙂

You’ve got some beautiful projects going. Those flying geese are looking great. Seems that the ADD is working out just fine for you.

  4. I have several UFO’s that have been languishing in my quilt cupboard for far too long. But, right at the moment I’m limiting myself to actively working on two projects. The chevron quilt I’m making for my new grandson that will be born in October, and the hand stitching on the binding of a jelly roll race lap quilt. When I finished baby’s quilt, I will then choose which UFO will be by next finish focus.

I’ve completed some small projects that have been sitting in a stack waiting to be finished. I’m trying to get myself to practice FMQing each day; I’ve done one day so far. Haha. Today I hope to sneak in some sewing time after I get some errands done and the house decorated for fall.

I am working on an appliqué block from an old Blackbird Designs book. Hugs,

  7. Quilters ADD – I love it!!! Great projects you have on the go and at least you are doing.

    Great post, Katy!
I love the border fabric for the QOV 16-patch…cannot wait to see what you choose for the backing, and for your quilting design!
The border fabric for your star blocks is perfect….is that Kona Ash! That is one of my favorites…the yellow cornerstones pull everything together….love this quilt top!
The colors in your flying geese are great….even though the colors are not bright, the colors seem saturated and really give the geese depth….hope that makes sense!
Thanks for sharing all of your projects….So much quilty inspiration!!

  9. I like your projects, especially the colors of the flying geese.
My problem is starting & ending my quilts. Last night after a slamming day at work it was time to sew. I just sat there trying to organize my thoughts of where to start. I’m trying to do as many QOV’s as I can,I procrastinate on the binding thinking I’ve got to find a good way to machine quilt the binding. My own leaders/enders project.
