Yesterday, I came across some flying geese I had pieced while looking for something else. I wanted a quick project, so I decided to stop looking and start piecing!
You might remember another quilt I made from more of these Flying Geese units last summer.
I am completely out of my favorite white fabric that I used for piecing these, so I had to get creative as to how I used them. First I tried adding these solids. Its okay.

Then I decided maybe more gray, but I didn’t have any more of the gray on the left so I tried the polka dot.

Nope. Then I found a couple prints.

I really like the one on the left. I didn’t have enough of either and didn’t care for these two together, so I kept looking.
This works for me! The one on the left is an older Denyse Schmidt print and the one on the right is a Lotta Jansdotter print that Daughter #2 gifted to me.

I may trim a bit of the left hand side. I will decide after I quilt it.

Perfect fabric for those geese! Excellent job piecing those geese … how in the world did you manage to get them so perfect?
I agree – I like the last option. Great way to use up the geese! Thanks for linking up to Midweek Makers!
Well, I love all of the choices, but I think you settled on just the right one!
Love your final choice for fabrics! That Lotta Jansdotter print is just perfect with the flying geese blocks!! Cannot wait to see how you decide to quilt it….
Don’t you just love it when an unexpected project presents itself….what fun!!
The points on your geese look perfect! I’ll be cheeky and ask: Would you share a photo sometime of how you pin the blocks together to keep the points? I like seeing your process of finding fabrics too, will wait with interest to see how it all comes together ☺
