Quilts of Valor

I quilted two more Quilts of Valor this week. The first is Terri’s sampler quit.

I loved the narrow gold sashing that she used and decided to go with MilItary Gold thread from Glide on it. Here is a shot of the back:

The next one was made by Sue. I kept wanting to sing Let it Go from the Disney movie, Frozen, while working on it!

This was a new panto to me called Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend. It took forever but I love the results. This type of panto looks great on this beautifully pieced quilt but would not look so great on a top that ended up a bit wonky. There is so much more to choosing the right pantograph for quilting than I realized when I started long arm quilting.

BTW, Urban Elementz currently has 25% off all there pantos. No code needed. They are my favorite place to order. Great customer service.

About katyquilts

I am a wife, mom of four amazing kids, and a librarian. I have been making traditional quilts for ages but have ventured into art qulting in the last several years. I also love to knit socks and mittens and dye my own fabric. I am thankful to God my Father and Creator for the gift of creativity!

You’ve been a busy lady. Lovely quilts and the quilting is perfect for them both. It’s funny, as much as we think we know, we can always learn something new. It is so true that the right quilting can really make a quilt pop! Thanks for all you do for QOV!
