Work in Progress Wednesday

Once again, I went out of town for the weekend and came home sick. Blech. Thankfully, I had yesterday off as I had originally planned to stay one more day than I did. I did a bit of hand piecing on my Hexie quilt while traveling. Here is a shot of it now.

That partial row bothers me. Hopefully enough that I will finish that row this week.
I did get the last solid border added to the QOV I am working on and I got it loaded into the frame.

Since I had no energy to quilt, I will contemplate the design for another day.

About katyquilts

I am a wife, mom of four amazing kids, and a librarian. I have been making traditional quilts for ages but have ventured into art qulting in the last several years. I also love to knit socks and mittens and dye my own fabric. I am thankful to God my Father and Creator for the gift of creativity!

  3. Loving your hexie quilt. I feel your pain with the unfinished row, too. Hope you’re feeling better soon!

I came here from the Let’s Bee Social link-up, and wanted to invite you to one we host called Crafty Comment Karma. It goes up each Friday and is open to any crafty, quilting or sewing links! I hope you’ll come join us:

Awww, Katy! So sorry you were under the weather. I hope you’re feeling better as the day goes on. I love that hexie quilt. I don’t know how you do it, but you always manage to create something wonderful with only scraps!

Love the hexagons!! Will you finish the top and bottom with half-hexagons?

  6. I’m interested in knowing how you are going to back the hexie quilt. You are inspiring to me to want to start putting my stray hexies in to a top.

  7. Sorry to hear you are sick – feel better soon. I have never made a hexagon but am becomming attracted to them lately. Do you have a strategy for your colour arrangement i.e. light and dark or is it a completely (contrived?) random design. I love the way your quilt looks and your fabrics are always so gorgeous.

  8. Oh! Hope you are getting better already. I like the boldness of the borders you’ve used for the QOV. It makes an interesting contrast to the hexie quilt – nice to have variety!

    Those hexies look amazing!
