Design Wall Monday

We are traveling home today but I thought I would post an update on my block a day log cabins as of last Thursday.

I didn’t bring a machine with me so I am now behind. I really don’t mind working ahead but I hate playing catchup. I do have 25 of these blocks that I made a couple years ago so I may just cheat a bit and add a few of those to my stack. They will all end up in the same quilt anyway. I just like to look at the stack and see how many days of winter are behind me!

About katyquilts

I am a wife, mom of four amazing kids, and a librarian. I have been making traditional quilts for ages but have ventured into art qulting in the last several years. I also love to knit socks and mittens and dye my own fabric. I am thankful to God my Father and Creator for the gift of creativity!

I love this layout, Katy. I have yet to make a log cabin quilt myself but it’s on my to-do list. I just have to accumulate a variety of “lights”.

Wow, your log cabin is really looking great! I love it! Is that the setting you’re going to use?

  7. It’s looking good! And you can’t beat yourself up about having some days away from home and your sewing machine! This time of year it’s refreshing to have a change of scene. Hope you’ll be all the more motivated and productive following your short break!
