Will You Be There?

The big AQS show is coming up next week!

I’m so excited! AccuQuilt is sponsoring the lounge area where you can go take a rest, get a drink, and charge your phone. And that is where you can find me! They will also have sewing machines, AccuQuilt die cutters and dies on hand so you can sew a block for charity. I’ll be helping out there, so please stop by and say hello!

It’s been a while since I’ve been to a big show and I’m so looking forward to it. I’m very interested to see the Cherrywood Challenge exhibition.

I’ll be there Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. I’ll mostly be working in the lounge as I mentioned, but I’ll still get a chance to see the show. I hope to see you there!

Have a great day!

Temp Quilt

I finished the August column for my Temperature quilt last weekend.

Here are the first eight months of the year. I love how this is turning out!

But you do have to keep people from talking to you when sorting your bits…… Let’s just say I had to run through the August colors about six times. Now everything is packed up and put away until September is over.

Have a great day!

Progress

I guess I didn’t have all that many pieces cut. I only ended up with 48 blocks. I need to decide if I want to make this bigger or not. In the mean time, I’ve been playing with layouts.

There are so many possibilities with this block!

Have a great day!

Design Wall Monday

I’m starting something new today. Well, newish. I cut the brown triangles a couple months ago when I was working through scraps, and finally got around to cutting the other pieces.

These are the AccuQuilt Studio dies that I’m using. You could also use Shapes 2 and. 5 from the 8” AccuQuilt Qube.

These are the blocks I’m making.

Of course, I had to put a few up on the wall!

Stay tuned. 😊

Before I go, I wanted to remind you about the AccuQuilt Labor Day sale!

With a code for 25% off, it’s essentially a make your own sale!

Have a great day!

Finish It Up Sunday

Done! I can’t wait to get this to my friend.

I attached the binding by machine.

This is the pantograph I used.

I’m glad to have this done. Have a great day!

This and That

While cleaning the sewing room, I found this top. It was made by a friend when I was teaching her to quilt. That was a very long time ago! After finishing the top, she got busy going back to school and I got busy with life. I confess, I’ve lost track of her! But her mom lives in town, so I decided to finish this up and hand it off to her mom.

Our hydrangeas are stunning this year.

We have cameras at our house in AZ. The car parked out front belongs to Daughter #2. I checked our camera and saw this. 😂

The three Es started school this week. They are growing up way too fast!

Have a great weekend!

Quilt the World 2023

Covering the World: One Quilt at a Time is a pay-it-forward campaign. This year, AccuQuilt has partnered with Island Batik and Baby Lock – who are both also sponsors for the campaign – to encourage quilters to make a quilt and donate it to the charity of their choice. Each week, team members from AccuQuilt and Island Batik will create their own quilt to donate, too. Recipients of a donated quilt will receive a handmade gift that can comfort them and remind them to pass along kindness to others.

This week it is my turn to share a quilt that I am donating. Each year in my area, there is a local quilt show/auction to raise money for our local Habitat for Humanity chapter.

I made this quilt last year in a QAL hosted by Lori at Humble Quilts .

It seemed the perfect piece to give to this wonderful cause.

I hope someone loves this quilt as much as I loved making it.

Click here for more info on how you can get involved and possibly win prizes as well!

Have a great day!

An Idea

Have you ever used a beading or cross stitch pattern to make a quilt?

I’ve had a couple ideas for that pinned for a while and finally got started.

Above is the AccuQuilt die I’m using. Can you tell where I’m headed with this?

Have a great day!

Temp Quilt

Decisions have been made. Pieces have been cut.

I used my AccuQuilt Studio 3 1/2” strip die first.

Then I placed my strips perpendicular to the blades on my 1 1/2” strip die.

Voila! 1 1/2 by 3 1/2” rectangles! They look so pretty!

But I needed to sort them. I listened to a book while I worked on this part.

So far, I have January and February done. I will have one column for each month, including the high and low for each day, top to bottom.

It shouldn’t take long to get caught up now that I have a system. The hardest part will be waiting until the end of the year to finish.

Before I go, here are the current specials at AccuQuilt .

Have a great day!
