Have a great day!
I finally finished the column for September, and now it’s nearing the end of October !

I’m loving how this looks so far. As a reminder, this shows high and low temps for Phoenix for this year. Each column represents one month.

Only three more to go. Crazy!
Have a great day!
I haven’t forgotten these! I just couldn’t decide on a fabric for the alternate blocks.

I brought a trio of possibilities back from AZ.

There is one I’m leaning toward, but we shall see.
Have a great day!
Yes, I think this will work!

Looks like it will finish at 60 by 72 inches. I’m really looking forward to quilting this one.

Before I go, I wanted to let you know that this fantastic AccuQuilt deal has been extended until midnight tonight!

Time to look at my wishlist!
Have a great day!

Have a great day!
I mentioned yesterday that I just returned from Arizona. Being sick most of the time meant few adventures. I did complete a few puzzles.

And a quick trip to Goodwill afforded six yards of this lovely IKEA fabric. I used some of this for a log cabin quilt several years ago. Click to here see it.

It was sad not seeing Jack, but most of our backyard cacti are doing well.

And this sweet bloom welcomed me.

I greatly enjoyed my own backyard on this trip. Being sick, I spent a lot of time there. The sky is always amazing.

Willy was my travel buddy.

He did such a great job, that I treated him to his first pup patty from In and Out Burger.

Have a great day!
Well, that was fast! If you need a quilt in a hurry and have some fat quarters laying around, this just might be the ticket!

I kept the quilting simple and soft.

This is the pantograph I used.

Good texture!

The backing is also plain. I was definitely going for a masculine look.

And if these photos look like Arizona, that’s because it is! Or was….I’m back in Michigan after a quick trip.

Sadly, I was sick with the crud most of the time I was there. But I did manage to finish a few things, this quilt included.

Have a great day!
Have you noticed a theme here lately? I found some more four patches that were made as leaders/ enders. These are feeling more interesting to me than the other set right now.

They finish at 4 inches. I have 120 done. I still like the idea of a stripy setting.

I could also do an alternate block set.

Hmmmm…..I think I’ll play with these a while.
Stay tuned.
Have a great day!
I love these big tumblers! I went with a simp,e cream solid to alternate with the homespuns.

And here is one of many reasons that I love my AccuQuilt dies.

See how those corners are engineered? That makes everything line up perfectly every time! No guesswork.

This shows some of the rows together. If you need a quilt in a hurry, this totally fits the bill!

Have a great day!

Finally I can share this bit of secret sewing with all of you!

A few months ago, I was asked to take part in a sew along for Fat Quarter Shop . This is the fabric I chose to use. Isn’t it lovely?

This quilt went together very quickly. The pattern is perfect if you have large prints or just need a good sized quilt in a hurry. It uses 12 fat quarters, plus a bit of background fabric. The blocks finish at 15 inches.

I used some Ruby Star from another line for the binding.

You can find the tutorial here.

Head over to the FQS Blog to see other versions of this fun quilt. There is a free pattern, a quilt kit, and video available. Have a great day!
