Slow Stitching ~ Is It Done Yet?

Ta daaaaa!!! It’s finally all in one piece and pressed.

I love it, but I am tired of working on it.

This next photo shows what it looks like on a 45 degree angle.

And here is a peek at the back.

It currently measures about 46”by 56”. I have more pieces cut. Should I keep going and make it bigger? And how will I finish the edges?

These are the questions I’m currently pondering. At the very least, it may do some closet time. I’m overdue for some hand quilting.

Have a great day!

This and That

Did you know you can make quesadillas in your toaster? It’s my new favorite snack! I use the small flour tortillas and shredded cheese.

I did tie die with the Es last weekend. It’s a mess, but they loved it. Idk where E1 was when picture time came.

Here are all 3 with Mr. Wonderful.

We also made these. So fun! You can find the best craft ideas for kids on Pinterest.

As this posts, I hope to be sleeping in after my time at the AQS show in Grand Rapids.

Have a great day!

Finish It Up Friday ~ Red and Brown

Willy gave his grudging approval to this little finish. 😁

I am quite chuffed with it myself!

It’s been a while since I’ve done quilting like this. The feathers go fast, the continuous curves? Not so much.

I might want to do this one again in a bigger size.

Have a great day!

Throwback Thursday

Since I’m busy at the AQS show this week, I’m sharing this post from five years ago today. I posted this for the Blogger’s Quilt Festival. Enjoy!

Once again, Amy from Amy’s Creative Side is hosting the Blogger’s Quilt Festival. If you are here visiting from her page, welcome! I hope you will take a look around while you are here.

Regular readers may remember this quilt that I finished earlier this year for my niece’s wedding gift. It is one of my favorite quilts ever so I decided to share it for BQF.

I kept the piecing simple because this quilt was all about the quilting for me.

I love this backing fabric by Tim Holtz.

I loved quilting all those feathers!

Have a wonderful day!

Scrappy Star Progress

Making these star blocks is quite addicting!

I’m only working with the scraps I had cut. It is fun coming up with combinations and substitutions when needed.

Some of these don’t even resemble stars anymore!

Have a great day!

Postage Stamp Progress

Remember this? I finally pieced all the rows.

I was thinking about adding long strips of this for sashing, but I might be changing my mind again. I could use this for an outer border.

I have a few blocks leftover.

I guess I’ll be thinking about it this week.

Scrappy Star Stitch Along

Taryn at Repro Quilt Lover, has started a casual stitch along. I resisted initially, but eventually succumbed and joined in.

Of course, I’m not quite following the rules. I had a bin of fabrics from my Amelia Brown Rooster Medallion that I had never put away. So I decided to make all my blocks from that bin.

I spent some time cutting pieces to get started. My blocks will finish at 6”.

I am clearly winging it here! I don’t even know how many blocks to make. But it’s fun!

Have a great day!

Slow Stitching Sunday

Make that vvvvveeeerrrrryyyyy slow stitching. The boys head home today and if I have any energy at all, I’ll finish the binding on this little bit.

Perhaps after a nap, I’ll add a few pieces here as well.

Have a great day!

This and That

Headed toward the finish line!

I saw this photo on an advertisement. It has great quilt potential!

Remember these? I found them while cleaning a closet.

This is why I need to get up before anyone else in the house.

The three Es have been here since Wednesday and will be here until tomorrow. I love having them here! But Monday I will have silence with my coffee and it won’t be at 4 AM 🤣

Have a great day!

Finish It Up Friday ~ Starry Night

I think nearly everyone is familiar with Van Gogh’s painting, The Starry Night.

Well, I’ve recently finished my overly simplified, pixelated version.

I freehanded the quilting to add swirls.

I had found this free beading pattern online and used that as my design.

It isn’t my most successful quilt, but it was fun!

Before I go, I had to let you in on this deal from AccuQuilt .

My AccuQuilt studio cutter is still my favorite!

Have a great day!
