This is another table runner I made using this June Tailor Quilt As You Go kit from AccuQuilt .

I wanted something bright and fun, so I broke out this jelly roll of Kona solids.

There were so many options, I had a hard time deciding!

Here is the back.

Ta daaaa!

There are so many Quilt As You Go options on the AccuQuilt site. You should try one out! They have kits for bags, placemats, quilts etc.

Have a great day!

My dear friend, Z, sent me this little quilt top. It had been given to her. It measures about 40 inches square. Isn’t it sweet?

The marking for quilting has already been done, lovely feathers everywhere! But fairly difficult to see.

My hand quilting is not good, that’s why I generate stick to all over designs. But I think I’m going to give this a go. I think it deserves to be finished.
Have a great day!
I learned something recently. Chartreuse is not always chartreuse. I ran out of chartreuse for my temperature quilt at the end of November and I knew I’d need to find some before I started working on December.
I went to a very large quilt shop here in Phoenix and bought a fat quarter of Kona Chartreuse. But it didn’t look right.

I bought it, thinking it has to be right. But before I left the parking lot, I looked it up on my phone.

Nope, definitely not the same. I was baffled, until I noticed at the very top, that this is Moda Bella Solids, NOT Kona. Duh. I went back in the store. I asked if they carried Moda solids and they said they only had a few bolts left. One of those was chartreuse! Woo hoo! See the difference?

I was so happy, I bought a whole yard!
Yep, that’s exactly what I needed!

Have a great day!
I made some more tiny 9 patches, but I think I’m done.

If I go with the quilt along, I’ll make 3” blocks. So I made 7 and turned them into a tiny 5 by 8 inch quilt.

I love this backing fabric!

It looks good with my Federation Baby toy sewing machine.

You can read a bit about it here.

Have a great day!
Here is a look back at a finish from late 2017. I called this quilt, Vintage Daisies. I still love this one! Enjoy!
This is my last finish for 2017.

These vintage blocks were purchased at an estate sale a few years ago.

I love finishing these old projects! The appliqué bits were all basted.

I used black pearl cotton to appliqué these blocks in a fashion that was popular in the 1930s and 40s.

Normally I like to keep the quilting on these very traditional. But the reality is, this quilt was begun in the last century and completed in this one. No one who looks at this quilting will ever be confused about that!

Here’s a look at the back. I used a plain, unbleached muslin.

Here are a few more photos taken after washing.

I love that texture!

Have a great day!
A quilter I follow on Instagram, has proposed a quilt along involving 1 1/2” finished size 9 patches. I’m intrigued, but I’m not sure I can do it. I decided to make one block that size and one in a 3” finished size. The squares look so tiny!

Ta daaa! Amazing the difference in size!

Far from perfect, but hopefully close enough .

Yikes! They look terrible up close! I do know that if I decide to go with the tiny blocks, I’m going to look into having an AccuQuilt die custom made to cut 1” squares.
Did you know they make custom dies? I haven’t ordered one yet, but people I know that have, have been pleased.
Have a great day!

I made so many small quilts this past year, that I had to make two posts! Here is the first.

So many fun little bits here. Hope they provide some inspiration for you.
Have a great day!
The last blocks have been designed.

Now I need to find a fabric to go between the blocks. I’m thinking about a stripe. Maybe.
Have a great day!
