This and That

We found this hot sauce in Northern AZ. It most certainly did not come from MY kitchen!

We found Pikachu in AZ and he came home to Michigan for E2.

We took photos of him along the way and sent them to our boys.

This sign from Petrified Forest made me laugh!

I should have bought this sticker!

And this just made me laugh. 🤣

Have a great day!

Finish It Up Friday ~ Another Madder

I think I’m ready to put these madder prints away for a while, but I’ve enjoyed working with them.

My cross hatch quilting is a bit wonky.

But overall, I’m quite pleased. I especially like how well it fits my doll bed.

Have a great day!

Have you seen…

….these little tool boxes? I got mine from Sam’s Club Online. You can also get one from Lowe’s that is branded, Kobalt. They seem to be quite the craze in the quilting/crafting world right now.

I initially bought the Kobalt version, but I took it back. this one is slightly bigger and has the handle on top. It also came with a few matching tools. I think it will be perfect for basic sewing supplies in the RV.

Both versions are just under $20. They have a very high cuteness factor!

Have a great day!

Rare Vintage Sewing Machine For Sale!

As part of our downsizing, I’ve decided to part with this very special sewing machine/table set.

The machine is a Singer model 128 from the 1940s. It is a beautiful 3/4 size machine with its bentwood case. The decals on this machine are not often seen. The machine has been rewired and is ready to sew.

What makes this really special though, is the rarely found library table. It’s the only table I’m aware of that will accommodate a machine in a bentwood case.

The platform has a mechanism to raise it up for a completely flat table surface.

This is located in Saginaw, Michigan. I will not ship, but I will drive up to 75 miles to meet someone. Price is $250. Email with questions at sew4given@aol.com

Thanks for looking!

Binding Strip QOV Top

My very long strip started the day this way…

…..and ended up like this.

It measures about 64 by 72 inches. I’ll square it all up after quilting. Which will have to wait until we get back to Arizona.

At this point, I can’t decide if I even like it or not. But at least that bin is a little emptier.

Have a great day!

Leftover Binding Strips

Apparently I left this big bin of binding strips here in Michigan. I sorted them into solids, brights, repro prints, and QOV bits.

I’m not sure these all go together. But we shall see.

I cut most of the pieces down to 30 inches or less and sewed them all end to end.

I didn’t press until that was done. Then I started at one side of my table…

And let the pressed length fall off the other side.

Stay tuned. Have a great day!

Another Madder

I had another little Madder quilt on my bucket list, so I cut pieces for it at the same time as the two I finished recently.

These blocks finish at 5 inches.

I was going to take a break after piecing the first three, but….

So fun to make! Have a great day!

Tiny 9 Patch Update

I’m still sewing these little blocks.

And I’m adding them to this. If I stopped now, it would only be about 14” square!

I was afraid these little blocks would just read as solid squares, but the detail shows up more than I expected. That’s a happy surprise!

Have a great day!

The Journey North Part 2

The second half of our rip was about visiting family. We stopped in Kansas to visit the mister’s sister and her hubby. I love them! Sadly, I forgot to take any photos! After a visit that was way too short, we moved on.

A beautiful sunrise greeted me the first morning at the farm where my sweet mother in love lives. It is called Our Father’s Farm. You can learn more about it by clicking here.

We had a great visit with her and another dear SIL.

Willy is loving the RV Life!

And Winslow, who has never really enjoyed car rides, has decided she likes it as well.

We took a break and stopped at an antique mall. I fell in love with this quilt, but only took a few pictures. I have to remember we are downsizing and this is not the time to collect quilts!

This was a welcome sign.

Have a great day!
