Finish It Up Friday ~ 9 Patch

It’s finally done! It’s true, a project you don’t work on takes forever to finish. And I didn’t work on this much at all last winter.

Willy gave his approval.

I kept the backing plain as I usually do when quilting vintage tops.

Ta daaaa!!!

After taking the photos shown above, I gave it a wash. The texture is wonderful.

You can see on the back that I quilted with blue thread. I had it on hand so, why not?

I ran out of one stripe for the binding so I finished with something else.

The more I look at this quilt, the more I love it!

I’m quite smitten, in fact. Have a great day!

Leader/Ender Project

I cut these triangles from the little leftovers of Blueberry Park that I had saved.

I’ve been sewing them together as leaders and enders. There aren’t many, but sewing time has been limited. And yes, I should use white thread, but I’m out.

So much potential in a tiny box. 😊

Have a great day!

Bowties

My little top is together. And yes, I know some of those naughty little blocks turned themselves around on me!

They are going to just have to stay that way. It is now basted and ready for quilting.

I’ll probably keep it real simple. Have a great day!

English Ivy

I’ve been doing some secret sewing for Fat Quarter Shop !

They have a free pattern and video tutorial for this Classic English Ivy block as part of their Classic and Vintage Series. Check it out on their blog today!

I used Wanderlust Fabric from Free Spirit.

I love the camping theme of these fabrics!

I made an envelope backing for my pillow. Can you tell I was dreaming of the RV life when I made it? 😁

And it is done! Such a fun project!

Have a great day!

Remember these?

I made these back in January when we were packing like crazy and I needed a break. Well, we are working like crazy again, so it seemed a good time to pull these out!

I don’t have much fabric here anymore, but found two possible options for alternate blocks.

Yep, the second one works best. But the bigger print might make a good border.

We shall see! Have a great day!

Slow Stitching Sunday ~ Pandora’s Box

I cut more pieces for this project before I left Arizona. It seemed a good handwork project for the summer. So I’m starting to mark the seam lines. I’m loving this little ruler from Moda.

I “finished” this last December, but even then I was thinking about going bigger. So I will.

I wonder how much bigger it will get!

Have a great day!

This and That

I found a little bag of blocks from a swap many, many years ago.

They finish at 3 inches. I have no idea what to do with them.

I found these cute bandanas for Winslow and Willy.

They came with a scrunchy so I could match.

The current state of my sewing room.

Kinda crazy! Have a great day!

Finish It Up Friday ~ Tan and Red

Done! I’m not happy with the machine quilting, but it is, what it is. I decided I was crazy to hand quilt anything this week. We are working hard to get this house on the market and I don’t have a lot of extra time. I miss my long arm!

This first photo was taken before washing.

This one is after washing.

And this is after a good steam.

And the back. You can see I’m very out of practice at quilting on a domestic machine.

This was my inspiration.

The mister needed a place to put his drinks and snacks while watching TV. This ended up being a perfect solution.

Have a great day!

Kitten

AccuQuilt has a new die! I know what you are thinking, this is so not me! I’m a definite dog person. But seeing it gave me an idea for a little girl gift.

I also used the GO! Heart die.

The above photos show a single piece of fabric folded in half. I fused the bits down and then quilted it nearly to death!

That pink zipper is a June Tailor Zippity Do Done zipper. They are very easy to use.

And ta daaaa!!! My finished little purse!

Isn’t it cute? If you want to make your own, you can find the dies and zipper at AQ.

Have a great day!

Drunkards Path 2

Look at that! I’m sewing curves!

Here is a look at the back of my first try. I can live with this.

I think these are going to be really fun to play with on the design wall.

But that will have to wait. I left this project in Arizona. 😕 Probably for the best since an RV doesn’t lend itself to a design wall, and this project will need one.

Have a great day!
