Finish It Up Friday ~ Art Haus

Done! I’ve had this project on my to do list for a while. I love how it turned out!

I really like using solids other than white for backgrounds.

I used the last of this print for backing.

And binding. I made a lot of binding so you’ll see it again.

The texture of the quilting is just lovely.

Have a great day!

Ugh!

I had an idea for another Project Linus quilt to make out of this Art Haus fabric. It was late; I should have gone to bed. I did the whole thing wrong. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Now I’m trying to figure out what I can do with the pieces I cut.

Hmmm….nothing is clicking yet. Wish me luck.

Blocks are Done!

My 4 inch blocks for the Scrappy meets Thrifty Challenge are done!

I ended up with 180 pieced blocks, but only 144 alternate red blocks.

I love how it looks.

But I need to figure out another fabric to add.

That blue isn’t working for me. Time to shop the stash.

Have a great day!

Did you guess the block?

And this is why I left them as half blocks. With a half drop, you get the tesselation going on.

Final layout is yet to be determined.

Have a great day!

This is not my usual sewing set up. That little black furball you see in the background below, caused me to move to the kitchen table.

Have I mentioned how much I love this Essential Thread from Connecting Threads ? They have really improved it since I first started buying it many years ago. It is finer, smoother, less linty, and I haven’t had it break on me yet. Better yet, it’s on sale 25% off through tomorrow!

I also picked up this little Oliso iron for travel sewing. Did you know these are available through AccuQuilt ?

You need these pieces for one block for this quilt.

I’m making this top with half blocks. You will see why soon.

Have a great day!

Vintage Top

Here is another possibility for hand quilting this summer. I just love the overall design!

But it has issues.

Lots of seams are coming apart.

But the prints are fantastic!

It is all hand sewn.

This purple fabric is see through in the light areas.

Love this block!

Sigh….so beautiful and yet so much work needs to be done. I’m not sure I have the patience for these repairs right now.

Have a great day!

This and That

We are still in Arizona and I’m so glad! Leaving later in the spring means we’ve been enjoying our cactus blossoms!

Most of these flowers last less than twelve hours, so I’m very thankful to have gotten to see them.

Daughter #2 was out of town so we celebrated Easter a bit late. The annual doggie egg hunt was another great success!

It didn’t take Gracie long to figure out how to open the eggs to get to the treats inside.

Willy still needs a bit of help. 😂 He isn’t the smartest pup, but I sure do love him.

I picked up these vintage fabrics at a yard sale last week. I lov3 them!

And I met another friendly burro when we were out and about. I just love them!

Have a great day!

Finish It Up Friday ~ Log Cabin

Finally! It’s done! I started this over a year ago.

It’s so hard to get good pictures of a big quilt. This finished at 101 inches square .

I chose a pantograph that would give lots of texture.

I ended up with a plain, off white backing.

I love how this turned out, but I’m SO glad it is done.

This photo was taken over my loft railing. It looks a bit washed out here.

One last thing, AccuQuilt has Studio dies on sale for half off until May 8th! Just remember to use the code STUDIO50 at checkout.

Have a great day!

Art Haus

I had been waiting for my AccuQuilt 16” Qube Set to arrive to cut into this lovely Art Haus fabric from Connecting Threads .

If you waited to order the AccuQuilt 16” Qube because they weren’t in stock yet, they are now! I can see already that this will be one of my most used sets. These are the dies I used for this project.

Easy peasy! My cutting is done!

Have a great day!

April Wrap- Up

It’s been a busy month outside the sewing room, but I finished a few small things.

The next two were not finished this month, but 5he patterns were released. These were made for AccuQuilt to celebrate the release of the new 16” Qube sets.

This may well end up being my most used set.

In fact, I think I need to make another version of the Field of Dreams quilt shown above!

Have a great day!
