It feels like this quilt was in process forever! In fact, I posted about cutting the pieces on August 24th, less than two months ago. The first pictures show the quilt before washing.
I really like the pixelated look that you get when viewing this at a distance! The quilt finished at about 68 by 80 before washing. I haven’t measured it after!
In some places, I ended up with “strings” of like squares. This was not intentional but I liked the look so I left it.
I used a pantograph called Ground Cover. I love the texture that it gives. I struggled to find the right binding fabric in my stash and eventually settled on this blue. Not a usual choice for me, but I rather like it now.
It is always a challenge to get good pictures in the wind!
Scary, I know. 🤣 I figured out a plan for these fat quarters plus this background fabric. Before cutting, I did replace the white one and the bottom FQ.
I’m starting out using Shape 3 from my 16” AccuQuilt Qube. This might be my favorite Qube.
Time to sew some large HSTs!
Before I go, the sale at AccuQuilt has been extended!
This was a rare moment of peace between these two!
You may have heard that Arizona got pummeled by the remnants of tropical storm Priscilla. This is one of the parks in our neighborhood. We didn’t get it nearly as bad as some areas.
My little HST quilt is done. It seems to glow in the morning light!
I love quilting grids in these pieces. I don’t worry about getting things perfectly even. But it gives such great texture.
The back.
I didn’t have enough green triangles, so I added the pink. I think it works.
Today is the last day for the AccuQuilt Better Than Black Friday Sale!
There are also some fantastic Clearance deals, one of which I highly recommend! Believe it or not, this is on clearance!
I’ve had mine for a couple years now. It was great for bringing stuff in the RV, but I plan to use it for sew days at the local guild now as well.
It holds a lot of stuff! I probably won’t take my die cutter to sew days, but this will be great for hauling projects and supplies. So you may be interested even if you don’t have a die cutter. The large pocket on the back holds rulers and mats.
