More of the Same….

I made some more blocks.

The background is actually a light gray print. It looks too dark in this photo.

I have enough pieces cut for 5 more blocks. I think I will cut one more out of each of these bits for a total 16.

I listened to this while sewing. It was okay. Just okay.

Yesterday was a busy day, I took care of several errands and stuff around the house.

Have a great day!

Tuesday

I’m making a little progress on my Star blocks, in between secret sewing.

I’m really liking these so far!

My AccuQuilt order came! There is still time ( until midnight June 30th) to get in on deals before the price increase. This is what I got.

Daughter #1 knew how much I’m missing Winslow. So she sent me this !

It looks just like her!

Isn’t that sweet? She’s so thoughtful!

Have a great day!

Design Wall Monday

I picked up these fat quarters last winter at Good Will.

I’ve been wanting to try out this AccuQuilt die and figured it was a great one to use up those FQs.

What a great die! Everything lines up perfectly.

There is another great AccuQuilt Live program coming up tomorrow. Click here to register.

Have a great day!

Vintage Kits

I picked up a couple vintage quilt kits at a sale recently.

The first one has been started.

You can see that some of the pieces still have rusty pins in them! Yikes!

The work that has been done, is lovely.

Here is the second kit. It appears complete and has not been started.

I love those colors!

Both kits have that stored, musty smell. I’m not sure what I will do with them since this is more hand work than I can handle. But I just couldn’t leave them behind.

Have a great day!

This and That

The past week has flown by! But that always happens when I’m in Arizona. I’ve been enjoying this beautiful place, but I mostly treasure the time with my kids and grands.

And I bought a car!

It will be nice to fly here and have a vehicle waiting in the garage. It isn’t new, but should meet our needs, including being good on gas.

I wanted to let you know about some AccuQuilt news…..

Yeah, inflation has hit us all! But price increases start July 1st so you still have time to get your orders in. And there are some great deals to boot! Check out these AccuQuilt deals, especially the Overstock and Clearance sections.

There are even some AccuQuilt Qube Companion sets in the overstock section. Yes, I grabbed a few myself. 😊

Connecting Threads also has some good sales on fabric and tools!

And Fat Quarter Shop is in on the fun as well. Bella Solids are all 20% off until the end of June! Here is just a sample.

Of course, they always have the Fat Quarter Shop Daily Deals.

Once again, I so appreciate it when you use my links to make purchases. It doesn’t cost you any more, but I earn a little bit in commission and that helps support my blogging habit. 😄

Have a great day!

Finish It Up Friday ~ Ladies Legacy

Put a fork in it, it’s done!

I like the layout I ended up with, though I liked the random one as well. I used a pantograph called Ground Cover on this quilt.

Everything came from stash.

Several of you said to skip the border. I compromised and went with a skinny border.

This design would look good on point too.

I don’t know where this will end up, but I’m using it as a table cloth for now.

It finished at 56” square.

Have a great day!

Throwback Thursday ~ Gather

Since I have secret sewing going on, I have nothing to share today. So here is a finish from a few years ago. It remains a favorite of mine. Enjoy this throwback post.

This is a most satisfying finish!

I started the appliqué last summer while traveling. The verse is John 6:12. After Jesus had fed the 5,000, he told his disciples to gather up the fragments so nothing would be wasted.

The background of the front is random scraps of muslin. I also used muslin on the back.

I initially wanted a red binding, but I ran out. I am really pleased with this tan. It frames the top without competing.

You can really see the different muslins in this photo.

I’m enjoying this in my family room for the time being.

Have a great day!

Progress

I’ve been enjoying time in my AZ sewing room this week.

Progress is being made!

I played with putting the lights in the middle.

Now I’m trying to figure out borders.

Maybe I should skip borders….hmmm….. Stay tuned.

Have a great day!

Marker Testing

I picked these kid’s washable markers up recently. I wanted to see if they would work for marking quilting.

I grabbed a piece of white fabric and made long lines. I kept the marks in the same order that the markers are in the box.

I ironed the bottom half and noted that with a permanent marker. Then I threw this piece in the washer with a load of laundry.

I’ve used the marker shown below with good results, but I haven’t found any lately in the places I shop.

So, want to see my test results? Here is my sample after washing and drying.

Even the area that was heat set came out clean! As always, your mileage may vary.

Have a great day!

Something New

I’ve had a couple of these charm packs for a while now. I love this line!

I decided they were perfect for a simple quilt using these AccuQuilt dies from the 8” Qube.

It feels good to be sewing again!

This is where I’m headed with this.

Of course, everything is subject to change. 😊

Check out this fun AccuQuilt Live program coming up tomorrow!

Register here to get in on the prize drawings. I have this die and LOVE it! Hope to “see” you there!

Have a great day!
