Leader/Ender Update

After a whirlwind trip to Missouri, I’m back in Arizona. Yesterday, was a nap with dogs/reading/rest day. I hope to get caught up on comments soon.

Adding triangles to these as a leader/ender project worked out very well. That was rather boring sewing, but it is now nearly done. So it’s time to think again about the layout.

This was my original plan.

But I also like this.

Perhaps turned this way.

I’ve got samples of both ideas up on the design wall so I can ponder it. Pondering is a very important part of quilting for me.

Have a great day!

A Diversion

I was supposed to be working on something else…but this AccuQuilt die caught my eye in the sewing room and the rest is history.

It didn’t take long to cut my pieces out.

They have these little notches built in.

I tried piecing this with pins and without. I had the best success without. Start like this and take a few stitches.

Then line up the notches and ease the edges together in between.

Once you get past the notches, line up to the end.

I pressed toward the black on all blocks.

This made all my seams nest nicely.

This finished block is 14 inches. So fun!

Have a great day !

January Wrap-up

I managed a bit more than one finish per week this month. One finish is secret sewing and will be revealed in March.

So the final tally is two baby quilts, one wall quilt, and one throw quilt. Not my most productive month, but not bad.

Have a great day!

2022 Baby Quilts

I lied! This is the last wrap up post! These are the baby quilts I finished last year.

I love making baby quilts! People really need to have more babies. 🤣

Have a great day!

2022 Small Quilts

Not as many in this category as I expected! I think of small quilts as bigger than minis and smaller than throw quilts.

And I think this is the end of my 2022 wrap-ups.

Have a great day!

Finish It Up Friday ~ Stars and Bows

Ta daaaaa!

This quilt turned out even better than I expected. I thought along the way that it might be too dark, but in the end, I think it’s just right.

The allover quilting worked well on the busy fabrics and showed up nicely on the border and back.

I used leftover backing fabric for the binding. Please excuse my lint. 🤦🏻‍♀️

It is 60 by 72 inches. A big thank you to Ila for sharing these lovely fabrics with me. 😊

Have a great day!

Are you tired of this one yet?

I’ve remained focused on this project and the end is in sight. It’s on the frame and quilting has begun.

This is the pantograph that I’m using.

Looking good so far.

This quilt has no destination yet. In time, it will tell me where it wants to go.

Also, sorry about my confusing “Test” post yesterday. I was trying to figure something out here.

Have a great day!

Moving Right Along…

I mentioned that the quilt I’m working on was inspired by ind I made years ago. I found a photo to share with you.

I think that one is about 25 years old. Here are the blocks for the current version.

Lots of work is needed on the layout yet.

Have a great day!
