The last time I shared this project, I had these four blocks done.
By the time the grand dogs went home, I had 12 done.
I’m feeling a bit underwhelmed here. Maybe it’s too busy? Maybe it needs more blocks. I like it better if I tilt my head to see what it looks like on point.

I don’t think it is too busy and I love the layout of the 2 different blocks.
I like the checkerboard and Irish chain concept. What if you space the blocks apart with white sashing and red cornerstones, to emphasize the chain effect? Easy to audition so you can decide.
I do like the “X” the red squares create. Would a solid sashing break up the busy feeling?
