While visiting my mother in love in Missouri, we pulled this quilt out of her closet. Isn’t it the most beautiful quilt you’ve ever seen?

It was made by her grandmother sometime around 1941. It is truly a masterpiece.

Willy loved it too.

The blocks are about 4 inches. The quilting is about 13 spi.

It has never been used.

Check out the corners!

We put it on her bed where she can use and enjoy it.

Isn’t that the loveliest thing?
Before I go, I wanted to remind you that this sale ends tonight at AccuQuilt .

I notice that the pink squares are strategically placed. What a wonderful scrap quilt!

Thank you for sharing this wonderful heirloom. It is so stunning! I LOVE scrappy quilts, and this is just so scrappy! I imagine she could look at each of the different fabrics and tell you who she made a dress or shirt for from those fabrics. These may have been the off cuts of garment sewing. Such as, “This blue print here, that was your great aunt’s dress for 2nd grade. And this beauty here was ….”
WOW! And such a large quilt, too. I haven’t seen very many older quilts in that size.
Thank you for sharing this with us. I love this era where we see that green and pink paired up so often. Wonderful pattern and seriously impressive quilting.
That is gorgeous! What a wonderful heirloom to have. Hugs,
So pretty with those pops of bubblegum pink, and the hand quilting is so even! I’m glad she has it out and is using it.
