Vintage Inspiration

I found this adorable vintage quilt online and thought it would be fun to reproduce. This is a crib quilt, but I planned to make a doll sized quilt.

I cut my squares 2”, so my four patches finish at 3”.

I cut creamy squares for in between.

I’m feeling a bit underwhelmed at this point. Maybe I’d like it better if I use a shirting print for alternate blocks. or maybe I should forge ahead and add interest with hand quilting.

Hmmmm….

Have a great day!

I’m loving it! However, I know that whatever you decide, it will be great because you are so imaginative and creative. Can’t wait to see the final result!

I think a different skip block, maybe a cream, would make the 4 patches pop. Diane

  4. I would lay it out with the cream around the edges too, to see how it will look. I think the gray from the mat affects how you see the quilt. If that doesn’t suit, then I’d try the shirting. I love how it’s looking!

I like the idea of a low scale shirting, it will soften it a bit. You make lovely quilts , sure you will find the right balance.

No shirtings , keep it simple.
