I found this adorable vintage quilt online and thought it would be fun to reproduce. This is a crib quilt, but I planned to make a doll sized quilt.

I cut my squares 2”, so my four patches finish at 3”.

I cut creamy squares for in between.

I’m feeling a bit underwhelmed at this point. Maybe I’d like it better if I use a shirting print for alternate blocks. or maybe I should forge ahead and add interest with hand quilting.
Hmmmm….
Have a great day!
I’m loving it! However, I know that whatever you decide, it will be great because you are so imaginative and creative. Can’t wait to see the final result!
The endless options will get you every time!
I think a different skip block, maybe a cream, would make the 4 patches pop. Diane
I would lay it out with the cream around the edges too, to see how it will look. I think the gray from the mat affects how you see the quilt. If that doesn’t suit, then I’d try the shirting. I love how it’s looking!
I like the idea of a low scale shirting, it will soften it a bit. You make lovely quilts , sure you will find the right balance.
No shirtings , keep it simple.
