Years ago, I saw in a book somewhere, a quilt made to celebrate Hailey’s Comet. I tried to find it again and was unable to. But that was my inspiration for this little bit.
Here is the back. I quilted a random grid and used a single fold binding.
I think I’d like it better in solids, but I’ll definitely make a bigger one some day!

Wasn’t that book just heartbreaking? I read it a long time ago, but it has stuck with me ever since. There’s a follow-up of the stories of the real children who were snatched, and a gathering of them as adults. Wonderful.
I loved that book as well. Your quilts are always so pretty.
Darling little quilt. It also reminded me of a tie flying by on a man in a hurry. Lol.
