A Challenge of Sorts

When my friend Zenia and I went to QuiltCon, we both loved this quilt.

We decided to make our own quilts inspired by this piece. It took me a long time to get started because I didn’t feel like I had quite the right scraps to work with. Then I went to a yard sale and picked up these.

Just what I needed to get inspired! I sorted the scraps by size.

They were a big too chunky so I randomly sliced them down the middle.

Once I had a pile, I started sewing them into twosies.

I stopped and pressed here because these were pretty skinny. I knew pressing here would make sewing these together easier.

I made long strips of random bits.

It’s a good start!

Have a great day!

OOOOOOH great minds. I too have been putting together piles of scraps and thinking about just sewing all together in one giant square.
