Sewing Room Update

My sewing room here is a continual work in progress. But I think I’ve figured out a workable solution in the short term. It still looks messier than I’d like, but it’s a work in progress.

I set up my embroidery machine last week and that necessitated a reshuffle. Here is an overall view.

Now I’ll walk around the room from right to left. Id like to redo my design wall soon. I like using foam insulation boards so I can stick pins in. When I turn on the ceiling fan, my blocks go flying!

Right to left…..Projects, Accuquilt, and ironing stations.

A table for my laptop and my embroidery machine. I brought the cabinet it is sitting on from Michigan. It holds embroidery supplies. To the left of that is a pile of stuff that will be moved out when Daughter #2’s house is done.

I picked up bed risers to raise the two tables that form my island/cutting table.

And now we are back to the beginning.

That area beyond the cutting table is a great little sitting area.

The dogs like to hang out there when I sew. When they aren’t under my feet, that is.

It is still a lot messier than I’d like. I love the enclosed storage I have back home. Until I decide what to use for that, this will do. It is functional and that is the most important thing.

Have a great day!

You have a beautiful space to create Katy. I am so thankful and love my cozy, messy, little crafting room. It gives me so much pleasure as I hope yours does too! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

If this is messy then my sewing room must be a disaster area! You have a lovely, large space!

Not sure about your definition of messy but I’d love to have a sewing day with you and the pooches! Ha!

back home? This isn’t your home? I’d love to have that space. We are in a 40′ 5th wheel travel trailer, and my SEWING space is the table in the kitchen. There is a built in armoire in our bathroom/bedroom area that now holds a lot of projects, as well as a series of bins where one of the dining chairs used to be. The top the bins works as a side table for the couch. More project bins are in the closet, since I am neither a clothes horse nor have a fetish for shoes. We do have cargo containers near by that house most of my fabric stash. In that I am very happy!

Hmmm, if that is what you call messy, I may have to re-think my life! It looks like a wonderful space and the sitting area is so cozy. I’m sure you will have it just the way you like it soon. Have fun!

  7. It’s a lovely space, Katy. I hope to someday have a design wall like that! It doesn’t look messy to me, not in the way I think of messy. What bothers you most about it?

  8. What a gorgeous space! I laughed at the blocks going flying – when the wind is blowing and the guys open the door – mine go everywhere – so I , like you, love the foam so I can pin!

    Happy Creating!!!!

It’s a great sewing space and very roomy! And your design wall space is to die for!
