Surprise Update

Remember this quilt that was hiding inside a comforter?

It has been reduced to this. I hope to make a mini out of these bits.

And this one?

Also reduced. Thought there was more usable fabric in this one.

I want to make a doll quilt replicating that pattern with this.

Happily, the comforter covers yielded a fair amount of usable fabrics for my vintage stash. These were tied quilts and they just do not hold up like quilted quilts. I think if I hadn’t bought these, they would have ended up in the trash. I’ll do my best to honor the original maker by letting the best parts live on.

Have a great day!

  1. You really rescued some special pieces and it will be fun to see what you make of them. What a sweet idea, the doll quilt.

Oh Katy, that’s a project made for my own heart. I’m certain you will do great justice to those forlorn pieces. Have fun!

It must feel good to repurpose these quilts that have obviously been loved by someone. Look forward to seeing the results.

  4. WOW! The results are sure to be wonderful. I am really enjoying seeing how you revive quilts by using what can be used.
