I have a fun finish to share with you this week. This top belongs to a friend of my mom’s. I think it was made by an aunt in the 1970s. She asked me to finish it for her.
The colors in the following photo are a bit more true.
I used a pantograph called Tendril on it. I also bound it by machine. This time, I stitched the binding to the top, then folded it under and stitched in the ditch, catching the binding on the back.
This is what the back looks like. I had to go back and restitch a few spots where I didn’t catch the fold.
She sent a flannel sheet along for the backing. This will be a very cozy quilt!
I hope to get this mailed back today.
Have a great day!
Oh, the colors are so bright for a top of that age. I’m sure she’ll be thrilled when she gets it back! Excellent job, Katy!
Wow ! Everything in these pics is beautiful ! the yard, flowers, quilt and the quilting.
That is a cute quilt! The quilting is wonderful. Hugs,
Is it vintage if it was in style during our adulthood? LOL. (And thanks for the binding comment. Try as I might there are always a couple of places where the stitching doesn’t catch the fold.)
I do believe that pattern was in Family Circle magazine.
