Quilting Decisions

I’ve decided to hand quilt this vintage top next. I think originally, the green alternate blocks were all the same, but they faded.

I’ve been playing with my Apple Pencil and an app called YouDoodle, to come up with a quilting plan. Ideally, I want something that I don’t have to mark and that is easy to work on in the car.

This decision is why it has taken so long for me to get started. I’m not in love with any of these. I need to break out of my Baptist Fan box. I thought of doing huge cables running from one side to the other. But there is that no marking thing.

I need to figure this out soon or I may start another disastrous knitting project.

Have a great day!

Hi Katy! Well, while you may want to break out of the Baptist Fan box, it is one of my absolute favorite quilting designs. And, also perfect for the age of the quilt, no?? I look forward to seeing what you decide. And good luck with the next knitting project – no more disasters. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

  3. I’m with you on the no marking thing. I really like the first option.

Your first choice seems fine. It sort of replicates the four patch idea.
