I love this fun quilt! I really wish I had cut two sets of the solid squares, because I already want to make another!
All fabric came from the stash, which meant piecing a backing.
The extra navy binding I made a while back was perfect for this.
It is so bright!
I love all the crazy, random fabrics.
I kinda wish I could keep it, but it will be a wedding gift for my nephew and his new wife.
The pantograph is Malachite from Urban Elementz.
Have a wonderful day!
Now I am inspired to make one too…love it.
Is your postage stamp 1 1/2″ when you cut it. Then 1″ done when put into the quilt. It is a wonerful quilt.
Oops, not scary…I meant scrappy tone of all my quilts.!
This appeals to me in everyday! I love checkerboards and while I am not usually a fan of wide borders, but it is perfect frame here. This is a timeless wedding gift! On another track, your mention of Roberta Horton had me pull my stash of her books. I hadn’t viewed them in a long time and now I have more quilts on the to do list. I even found notes from a class I took with her in early 80s about colo/fabric choices. thinking about it made me realize this set the scary tone that is found in all my quilts both then and now. thanks for the reminder!!
YAY! I don’t normally care for wide borders, but it feels just right for this quilt.
i can see why you would want to keep it. it’s wonderful!!! i love these kinds of quilt even if they do take a whlie. i love my y2k quilt made with 2.5″ squares. enjoy it while you can. patti in florida
Love the colors in this quilt – especially that yummy border color! I just want to sit and look at this quilt, basking in that sunlight! I can see why you want to make another!
It is a beauty, Katy!. A good idea starting with the solids! Have a good weekend. Special days!
What a gorgeous finish–it looks beautiful on the bed…great work hugs, Julierose
