This is a photo of our house when we moved in.
That tree in front of the door had to go. So we had it moved to the other side of the driveway. I loved it!
Alas, the tree did not. I didn’t take a photo of the dead tree, but we were back to this, which I’m sure my neighbors considered an improvement.
Yesterday, we welcomed Jack into the family. He is a seven foot saguaro spear (no branches). I would have preferred one with arms, but it wasn’t in the budget. Did you know it takes 50-100 YEARS for a saguaro to grow arms?
He’s 60 years old! I’m smitten with him.
Have a great day!
Nice replacement!
Love, love, love Jack the cactus!!!!! I always told the hubster, if we were able to have a place in AZ, I would want one of those in my yard too!
Wow, I had no idea about the longevity of a cactus. it is so dramatic – looks great!
Jack is a strong specimen for the age of 60. Just don’t try to hug him. LOL!
LOL – Cactus Jack makes mine look like a ten year old, but that’s okay – it’s still growing. Some aloes over by the saguaro would look nice, especially the low growing ones.
That is so interesting information about your cactus. That tree being moved from in front of the house was a great idea. Hugs,
Cactus Jack might need a commemorative quilt. Just sayin’
And he has two arms already. Lol. Like what you are doing with landscaping
