I’m so pleased with this top! Every piece came from my neighbor.
Each square finishes at 2 inches and each rectangle finishes at 2 by 4 inches. My top finished at 60 by 80 inches.
You may notice that I have many places where pieces cut from the same fabric were used close together. This is something I’ve noticed a lot lately in antique quilts.
I really like this and have been incorporating that in some of my quilts.
I imagine back in the day, some women added to their tops as fabric became available, creating this feature by necessity. I think it adds a lot of interest. I don’t think I’m done with this pattern yet. It was a lot of fun to see.
