Flying Geese

I’ve been very drawn to flying geese again lately. I pieced this little top using some of my vintage fabric stash.

Cutting those triangles off grain on the bottom left gave it a wonky look. Since the machine quilting on my trusty little Featherweight went so well on my last two little projects, I decided to give it a go on this one.

The answer is….not good.

Um….yeah….now I have waves to add to my wonk.

The other half looks better. I have no idea what I did differently. The back looks fine.

I’m disappointed, but I’m not going to stress over it. Have a great day!

i like it. you cut wonky geese (at least one), so the quilting can be a bit wonky also. if it really bugs you, on the ditch side with the larger spaces. just stitch another line on either side of the ditch (maybe equal distances) like 1/8th inch. then it will look dandy. i think it already looks dandy. quilt on. hugs, patti in florida

Well I love it!! I also love that you are willing to experiment with ideas, fabric and different ways to quilt. Have a great day. Hugs,

It is handwork still, so one day you will be able to sew more steady than the other.
I like your quilt , a bit bumpy, just as life itself.
