I trimmed up these blocks and headed back to the design wall.
I just didn’t feel like making more so I set about trying to find a better way to make them stretch. Anneke was right about the stripes being too distracting. I think this gray will work better.
Of course, I ran out. So I picked another gray print to use for those last two corners.
Last weekend, I saw a quilt on Instagram by @janettebinder that looked like a perfect way to use my leftovers so I cut those out while I was in the sewing room.
Hopefully I can get this top together today and in the frame. It would be nice to have a finish this week.
Have a great day!
Starting a new quilt is fast always an adventure .We play and struggle with collar,
fabric and pattern. But we like it and at the end we ( mostly) are happy with the result.
What will we see tomorrow? Or the day after tomorrow?
Good luck Katy. You know how to surprise! Great !
Really nice blocks set against the gray and the little birdies (right?) in the two corners add a little something unexpected.
The gray makes the blocks pop but also adds a calmness to the quilt. Why is it, when we find the best background, we often have not quite enough?? You made a good fix, though, which will add a little added fun to the quilt!
Good Day, I agree with the gray. It makes the colors pop for me.Have a Great Day!!!!!Denise
beautiful! I love the bright blocks!
