Christmas in July!

I was invited to participate in a QAL for Fat Quarter Shop . Here are the fabrics I used.

The pattern called for two charm packs, but I used a jolly bar cut in half, yielding two sets of five inch squares. I had to make a bunch of HSTs so I layered a few of my squares and drew a line across the back.

Then you sew on the line and trim.

This got old quick. So I decided it was time to try this tape, purchased from Fat Quarter Shop .

This is how it works.

Much faster!

I can’t share anymore just yet, but you’ll see it soon. Have a great day!

About katyquilts

I am a wife, mom of four amazing kids, and a librarian. I have been making traditional quilts for ages but have ventured into art qulting in the last several years. I also love to knit socks and mittens and dye my own fabric. I am thankful to God my Father and Creator for the gift of creativity!

What are you going to do with all those extra triangles. I really like the convience of charm packs but when certain sizes waste so much I find cutting the larger piece that gives me two triangles. I was surprised you did not use accuquilt.

  5. I love my diagonal seam tape too!! It’s SO MUCH better than drawing all those lines 😉 I’ve been making more masks, I found a pattern on YT that gives more space between my mouth and the fabric making it much easier to talk. I posted about it on FB and now family & friends are asking me to make some for them 😮 That’ll teach me! LOL
