In January each year, I try to do a deep clean in the sewing room. I accidentally started early this year. I was looking for border options for the Dutch Hexies quilt and decided to straighten up my shelves holding yardage.
There is a bit of method to my organization here!
Then I sorted magazines and passed over half on to a friend.
I even tackled a few baskets setting aside anything I was sure I wouldn’t use to give to the same friend. This might not look neat to you, but trust me, it is way better than it was! I keep pieces smaller than yardage and bigger than scraps in these.
I have a lot of work yet to do, but it sure feels good to have a jump on this chore!
Have a great day!
My sewing space has been under renovation for the past 8 months? I have a few projects on the go, but have to borrow space from something else to actually work on something bigger than a few blocks. At any rate, the contractor will be here soon, and I might have a room again by Feb. 1st – and then the BIG sort / purge will happen here too….
I love it – you accidentally started early!! that means you can come here for January then!! It looks great and I see a lot of cool quilts in your future!!
That’s entirely depressing!! My sewing area has NEVER looked that good!!! UGH
I did some cleaning and sorting, too. Mostly the boxes, etc stacked under my cutting table. It feels good and looks better. Well done, you!
It looks great! I really need to clean up my room too…..
It looks so nice and neat! I have been straightening my sewing room too. Just putting things back in their right place. Hugs,
Doesn’t that accidental cleaning feel good? You have a head start! I was just thinking this morning that one of my tasks today should be a bit of cleaning too!
I am next on this wagon-train, let me tell you! New thermostat on the 3rd floor so can go up there again-am raring to go now that I don’t need a coat up there! Susan
Great idea Katy! Thanks for sharing, I need to go through all the stuff under my cutting table – it seems to be a catch all spot :-p
It looks clean and organized to me! Very nice, and congrats on getting a head start.
