Rope Baskets

You may remember a while back when I made a rope basket.

Since it was claimed by Daughter #3, I decided to make another. I practiced on a small length and made this coaster.

Then I decided to try an oval basket. I just using cotton clothesline rope and a zig zag stitch.

Ran out of rope!

It does get a bit awkward as it grows.

I wrapped the ends in a big of muslin when I needed to join another piece.

Ran out of rope again.

I’m not sure how this will end up. Stay tuned!

    I too have cotton clothes line, books on how to, and intend to make these. Looking forward to seeing what you learn and how difficult it could be.
