We’ve been home a month and I already want to go back! This is one of the glaciers we saw. As it moves toward the lake in front, pieces of ice break off and float out to see.
It creates this “diamond ” beach. The ice is gorgeous against the black sand.
These pieces of ice are massive! This one was about three feet high.
The blue color of the ice is amazing.
Along the east side of the country are fjords and many small fishing villages.
We saw plenty of snow in the north!
Another beautiful waterfall just off the main road.
There are many areas of geothermal activity. The colors are amazing. Sadly, that is hard to see here due to the time of day.
Sunset over Lake Mývatn. More to come.
Have a great day!
Such a gorgeous place! your first few photos and natural Black and whites! So very cool!
Oh, I love that photo of you and Mr. Wonderful!
WOW! Keep them coming – this is making me say we NEED to go visit Iceland soon. ~smile~ Roseanne
