I bought this panel from Urban Elementz last summer and finally got up the courage to quilt it. I was afraid of ruining it, which is just silly. It’s just fabric!
I appreciate all the kind comments on the post about this the other day. After finishing it, I can look back with a kinder eye.
I used two layers of 80/20 batting on this. I used a light gray Glide thread for the quilting.
The lavender binding framed it without screaming for attention.
I do wish I had chosen a different backing. It shows ever flaw!
And there are many.
I have another one of these panels to quilt. I love feathers so I may do something very similar. After all, practice makes perfect!
Have a great day!

It’s amazing. I keep seeing these panels, and they look great.
Gorgeous!
This is absolutely stunning!
This is gorgeous!!!! Beautiful and perfect choice of quilting design. Guess I need to order one as well.
Katy, It is gorgeous!!! Flaws and all, which I didn’t see 🙂 ❤
Absolutely STUNNING, Katy!!
Beautiful work. The colors are dreamy. All life is flawed in this earth. I don’t see any in your work. Quite excellent. Enjoy your accomplishments. Sometimes our own demand on ourselves is just to rigid.
It is stunning!! Love how you added two layers of batting to make the quilting really shine! No flaws, just beauty…
What a beautiful finish! Love the backing, and I see no flaws. Who’s looking for flaws when there’s so much great quilting to admire? Just lovely, Katy! Enjoy it!
Hi Katy! It’s beautiful . . . and who looks at the back??!!! And even if they do, they don’t have the critical eye that you have for your own projects. Happy Mother’s Day and Happy Friday!! ~smile~ Roseanne
What a stunning quilt. What you call flaws are the organic nature of quilting, and flowers are the essence of organic. Well done!
I guess I don’t know enough about machine quilting because I don’t see any flaws. It is gorgeous!
This came out just gorgeous! The extra layer of batting gave it such wonderful texture.
Beautiful!!! I have two of them as well and I need to practice freehand feathers before do mine. I love how yours came out! I also never thought of using 2 layers of batting, so happy you share all your talents with us.
Have you seen the pattern from Jordan Fabrics on extending this panel to a larger throw size? Very cute! Your Quilting is fantastic!
