Mr. Wonderful took a day off a few weeks ago just so we could hang out together. He found a garage sale advertising quilt stuff. So after breakfast, we went to check it out.
I was NOT disappointed! Although I felt badly for the lady selling. Her arthritis had gotten so bad, she couldn’t quilt anymore. She was so nice. Anyway, this is what I brought home.
That’s what nearly 100 yards of fabric looks like! It was all great quilt shop quality stuff. There are four kits for Quilts of Valor in there. I probably won’t make the quilts as patterned, but all that lovely fabric will get turned into quilts for our service men and women. I’ll pass the patterns on to my Stitching Sisters group.
I hope you have a wonderful day!
Katy did I read that correctly you purchased 100 yards of material? Love the sales you and Mr Wonderful find 🙂 Stitching Sisters thanks you for thinking of us as well. Hope all is going well with your recovery too 🙂
Wow! What a haul. I feel for that lady.
What a great deal! And you could assure the seller that her fabric and patterns would go to a good home.
Hi Katy,
Although I am sure she is sad to have to give up her quilting hobby, I’ll bet she was very happy to have it going to a good sewing home. Isn’t that what we all hope for?! We tell our peeps NOT to just bring everything to Goodwill – let so and so clean out our quilting room please. That does kind of break my heart for her though. Happy Saturday! ~smile~ Roseanne
Sad she had to give up quilting. She was no doubt happy that her treasure will be put to good use.
You are so lucky! I’ve never found treasures like that. That would make my day.
What a great find! At least the fabric will be used and that is what all quilters really want.
I’d say you had a good morning! So sad that she had to give up quilting though. That breaks my heart.
Treasure indeed! What a find. And it will all be put to good use.
