I’m working on a t-shirt quilt for my great nephew. He’s been active in sports since he was tiny so his mom had a huge bag of shirts she wanted to include.

First I rough cut the shirts apart, then add fusible interfacing to the back and trim again. Then the puzzling begins.

Things continue to get moved around and trimmed in the process. I’m using Kona Coal for the sashing.

I think I’m a bit over halfway done with the top. I hope to finish it today so I can get it on the frame soon.
Have a great day!

I really like the dark grey sashing!
Looking great. Coal is a great sashing colour. I still plan to make a quilt with my Girl Guide shirts.
This looks like a very large quilt. I admire your willingness to take on the job. How will quilt it….over the designs or around them? Does your longarm have difficulty going through the screen prints?
It’s like working with a puzzle, isn’t it? I agree that the Kona Coal is a great color for the sashing. This is going to be really nice!
I love it! T-shirt quilts are so fun to play with and organize, it’s a giant puzzle. Perfect color for the sashing.
I like the slight jog in placement, about halfway down — it add visual interest. The Kona Coal is a great color for the sashing!
