I’ve mentioned before that Accuquilt has free patterns available on their site. You don’t necessarily have to have a die cutter to use them. I came across this free pattern and decided to try it out. You definitely don’t need a cutter for this one, but it is nice if you decide to do a strippy version.

The pattern actually has directions for six different sized baskets. I decided to make the smallest size and to use a practice piece of machine quilting I had laying around.

I dad some leftover backing from the baby quilt I’ve been working on and used that for the lining.

That ugly fabric I used on the back of my practice piece will be hidden inside.

Ta daaa! This little basket is about 3 1/2 inches high and the bottom is about 4 1/2 inches square.

It would be good for storing lots of little things in the sewing room.

You can click here to find all the current deals going on at Accuquilt. I think I’ll go digging through my other machine quilting samples to make some more baskets in other sizes.
Have a great day!

Great project, adorable. I think I’m going to give it a try and use up my practice pieces from the long arm. Thanks Katy!
That looks great, and so useful. Great way to make those practice pieces useful, too.
That’s cute! And a great way to use up your practice pieces! I’ve downloaded it! =)
Hi Katy,
One of my friends received a Go! for Christmas from her family. She may be the ticket to my purchasing one of these . . . and you know I’ll use your link. ~smile~ Roseanne
