Another Eagle QOV

Well, the Eagle QOV that I’ve been working on is still not done. But I got another one to quilt for a member of our Stitching Sisters group. Once again, I’m using an app called Adobe Ideas to try to work out my quilting designs. This app is sadly no longer available.

I’m not sure about any of these ideas. Back to the drawing board (or app) for me!

Have a great day!

About katyquilts

I am a wife, mom of four amazing kids, and a librarian. I have been making traditional quilts for ages but have ventured into art qulting in the last several years. I also love to knit socks and mittens and dye my own fabric. I am thankful to God my Father and Creator for the gift of creativity!

Do you know where I can get the eagle applique pattern?

Great quilt top! I think I like the quilting on the first eagle best. That closer, more filled look is great. I also like the quilting around the top row of stars, and I wondered if something similar would work for the other stars, just different shapes, since they are different stars.

  3. The eagle is the star! He is awesome!

I like choice one for the background around the eagle – gives great motion and adds to his power, and look in his eye. The second one is a bit mellower, as if he’s gliding. Undecided about the borders. Maybe alternate themes on the stars. Hope this helps – he looks really good!

  5. I can’t wait to see what you do with the eagle. I’m not sure which of those I like best, so will just sit back and see what you do! It will be great, I’m confident of that.

I like the second and third eagle. Both have a strength about them. The first eagle seems a bit windblown.

  7. I like number 3! This is going to be a beautiful quilt!

  8. The app you have looks like it would be so useful – too bad it’s not available. Rebecca (Cheeky Cognoscenti) recently posted about the app she uses so that would be an option for anyone who is looking for a new app. I think it’s so cool to be able to sketch out quilting designs before actually stitching anything. 🙂
