While Daughter #2 was here, she helped me tackle a few DIY projects.

That wallpaper border went up nearly 16 years ago. It was time for it to go.

I always loved it as well as the paint color, but I think I’m ready for something new. We also did a bit of furniture rearranging.

Since we moved here 17 years ago, we had the couch in front of those beautiful windows. I finally found an arrangement that opens things up a bit. The room is long and narrow so this isn’t perfect, but I love the change. Today, I want to shop my house for something different over the fireplace. The picture there is too small. The last quilt I had up there was too big. I’m sure I can find something. I will be painting soon as well. But I’ll be starting with a couple upstairs bedrooms.
Back to work! Have a great day!

What a lovely room!
I love getting peaks into other’s homes and also redecorating processes! Have you got a quilt in mind for over the fireplace? Or will you be putting some kind of artwork?
I love all the windows in that room; especially the two on either side of the fireplace. The arches are awesome and allow light in even if you lower the shades for privacy. And the “his and her” chairs facing the TV make perfect sense. Now we have to wait awhile to see what color you end up painting the room.
The wallpaper removal brightened the room. Maybe the picture above the fireplace is fine but just needs a collage of other things with it, perhaps a family picture, largish clock, mini quilt, etc???
It’s always fun to change things up a little. I have a narrow den and not many options for changing furniture around. Hugs, Happy Easter!
All that beautiful light and lovely decor. I’m sure you’ll find just the right thing for above the fireplace. Thanks for the little tour! Enjoy your Easter weekend!
What a wonderful room with all that natural light. I’d love to see which quilt you choose to grace the area over the fireplace.
Nice arrangement. We have a long narrow Den – be great if it were nice and square – it would be a large room!
