A New Pincushion!

A few weeks ago I visited a new little quilt shop during their grand opening. They gave little English a Paper a piecing kits to all customers.

I pieced the flower and then set it aside until last night.

I appliquéd the flower to the gray background and then quilted it.

Finally, I cut a backing, stitched, turned, filled, and stitched up the opening.

I fill my pincushions with rice. I used a decorator weight scrap for the back.

Such a fun little project! Have a great day!

  4. Adorable project! Love the use of hexies without getting so far into them you’re obligated to make a quilt.

    Katy,
What size were those little paper pieces? I ordered the die for small hexies and I think this would be a fun take-along project. One of my Granddaughters wants a blue rose. She’s 5 and this would make a cute hair clip for her braided hair.
