Design Wall Monday

We had a gorgeous weekend here weather wise! My outdoor sewing room worked out so well!

The enamel pan to the left holds my scraps. I put the tray on top to keep my pretty scraps from flying away in the breeze. The one on the right served as my trash bin.

I finished the last 9 blocks that I needed. Here they are on the design wall.

These proved to be a perfect piecing project for working with the hand crank. Here is my stack of 64 finished blocks. They will finish at 4 inches.

Between loads of laundry today, I plan to play with designs on EQ7.

I mentioned our gorgeous weather this weekend but in the midst of that, we did experience an earthquake.     But we are tough people here in Michigan as shown by this post from Facebook.

Have a great day! Linking up with Patchwork Times.

Love your outdoors sewing area. I too have done that and I love sewing outside. Your log cabin blocks are great. Love your sewing machine. Sue and I went to an estate sale a few weeks ago and I saw one just like it. Mad at myself for not buying it 😦 But looking for a featherweight 🙂

  2. Katy, I love your outdoor sewing ‘room’! I think fresh air makes it all better. The log cabin blocks look good, and the little pops of red add so much zing to them.

  3. Oh your log cabin blocks are gorgeous – I love your fabrics! I am envious of your hand crank machine that is so portable and useable wherever you go – you can even sew in a power cut!!!!

I love the photo of the stacks on the vintage chair. One of my best friends who lives in Portage emailed me about the quake. She said the epicenter was 5 miles under her daughter’s home Q Ave in Scotts, MI. Now you folks have a taste of what it’s like to live in California. 🙂

    That earthquake picture was hilarious.

I would love to be able to sit outside and sew. I did take my EPP project out and stitched some pieces together … Just about the most perfect weekend ever.

Love your log cabin blocks. Great way to use up scraps. Can you tell me where you purchased the paper pieces? Thank you.
