WIP Wednesday

I loaded up my QOV top yesterday morning.

I debated thread and considered pantographs.

I have taken a couple of Craftsy classes from Angela Walters and have been practicing feathers. But it is so hard to actually do this on a quilt top you live. I mean, what if I ruin it or have to spend days roping stitches?

I procrastinated and played with designs on my Adobe Ideas app.

I decided to start with a feather border that probably wouldn’t show anyway.

Then I went to work and refused to look at it last night.

This morning I got up and wound bobbins. And decided to go for it.

So far, so good!

Oh, yeah! This is what I had in mind! But now I don’t want to go to work!

About katyquilts

I am a wife, mom of four amazing kids, and a librarian. I have been making traditional quilts for ages but have ventured into art qulting in the last several years. I also love to knit socks and mittens and dye my own fabric. I am thankful to God my Father and Creator for the gift of creativity!

Great quilt, it’s coming along nicely. I love quilted feathers. I see you like to visit linky parties and I would like to invite you to share your projects at mine as well–KISMIF at Modern Tradition Quilts.

    It looks fantastic!!

Great job on the quilting. When I was still working, I sure hated how work interfered with my quilting … I guess that’s why I’m obsessed with quilting now that I’m retired … trying to make up for lost time? 😉

  4. Your quilting looks fantastic! I don’t blame you for wanting to stay home and finish. But it will still be there when you get back!

  5. Anja says:

It looks great. Work interferes with my quilting as well. LOL

Looks terrific so far. I am in awe of your piecing skills, which must make the quilting so much easier! And darn that “working” thing for interfering with your quilty momentum!
